UK-based Holfeld Plastics has launched a new range of sustainable packaging solutions for poultry and fish products across Europe.
The new pluS range comes in an rPET material with a PE sealing film and with improved sealing characteristics to offer good barrier performance, ideally suitable for poultry and fish products and to help retailers to keep food fresh for long and reduce waste.
Holfeld Plastics sales and development director John Cullen said the new range provides low carbon footprint with increased packing line efficiencies due to the faster sealing times.
"And as these are made from recycled rPet they offer a maximum shelf life due to the increased barrier properties compared with PP an important feature in the world's fight against food waste," Cullen said.
Holfeld claims that the trays are suitable for storage in deep freezers, which are available with coloured drip pads or with Holsorb, an integral drip retention feature in the base of some trays to eliminate the need for soak pads.
